on those photographs in the Adds.. I have found over the
years that they are the most dishonest part of a very dishonest

the person when they were much younger or even of someone

Ok, this has to be said. First off, there is NOTHING WRONG
with NOT being interested in overweight people of EITHER
gender, contrary to all the guilt trips that get posted
on here about it. Either LOSE the weight or start restricting
your searches to "plus-sized" matches so you can find someone
compatible. One problem is that a lot of fat people have
double standards and expect to find some slender babe or
hunk to sumo wrestle with them all night. Face it, we're
all attracted to attractive people, even if we're not.
So what if there are people who look good without effort?
Doesn't mean you're off the hook, I sure as heck am not. But
guess what... once you've managed to become good looking
after quite possibly years of work, you're not going to
have a lot of interest in someone who doesn't care enough
about YOU to look good for YOU in return. Slaving your way
to a good looking body is like wearing a tux to a date. But
if your date shows up lugging 150 pounds of inert cellulite,
it's as if he/she expects to go with you to a 5-star restaurant
in a ripped T-shirt and scuffed jeans AND without having
bathed in the past week. The long and short of this is: either
lower your own standards and look for people who look like
you, or take the self-respecting path: lose the weight,
even if it takes the rest of your life. Either way, call off
the "fat people are better, everyone should date us instead"
police and realize no one is REQUIRED to like anyone else
- regardless of what the political correctness movement
says. |

i first started looking into the idea of internet introduction
services for the same reasons that most of you proably did.
tired of the local gene pool or the bar scene.curiosity
or maybe you have had about as much luck as i have at meeting
someone in your neighborhood checkout line.(where did
that myth originate anyway and by who "mr. whipple") as
i first came across a service i quickly became intrigued
with being able to reach out and touch, literlly thousands
of potential soulmates. thats all it took and i imediatly
signed up. i was hooked. and the idea just got better and
better. straight to the photo gallery i went. it was like
being a kid in a "candi" shop. standing in line at the worlds
largest all you can eat buffet, (metaphorically speaking)
starving and not knowing where to begin. blowing off 4 out
of 5 right off the bat because they just didnt quite look
right. and as i sat there, testing the dephts of my own shallowness,
never once even considereing the fact that they may take
as bad a picture as myself, or that they used a glamor shot
or the fact that i may have passed up someone very special.
then i got to the self descriptions.. gripped by intimidation
i read over and over, profiles of what could only be described
as betty crocker, helen gurley brown, mother teresa, and
cindy crawford with a p.h.d. all rolled up into one. i dont
know where these ladies fall on the food chain but i certainly
fall a few links lower. but i sucked it up and headed to the
next section. what i am looking for.....a sort of dream
christmas list. male, 6ft 2, brown hair, blue eyes, 200
lbs., ivy league edu., financally secure, loves dogs
and kids, romantic, sensitive , moonlights as a stand
up, and on weekends volunteers to feed the homeless.......if
any of you ladies find him let me know and i will consider
dating him. (kidding)i read a well written letter from
a well spoken young lady giving us "guys" some advice on
how to improve our profiles , in effect making us sound better
than we actually are. she suggested that we should use a
dictionary and check for typos. i say leave them in .(i did)
the people that notice them and look at that are most likely
not for you and you are proably better suited for someone
thinks that it was well written. mention some of the things
that you would like to change about yourself or that arnt
your most admirable charastics. personally i never particapated
beyond the tenth grade. i know we all want the best in the
great soulmate search, but the best might not be the best
for you.i think these services should add two more catagories.
my worst charastics are.... and what im willing to settle
for. there are alot of diamonds in the rough out there. the
truth is the truth is the truth and can make the journey alot
more enjoyable. and happiness! well , you might just find
it a few links down. |

to me over the Christmas break. I was so dissapointed when
I found out that they had been in my city for two days touring
with a band and that I had missed the whole event and a potential
meeting. I had neglected my friends on computer for a couple
of months and heard the "bad news" from my friend when I returned
to my regular chat site. They had been and gone!! Email your
friends regularly so that if you can't find the time to chat
you won't have the same thing happen to you. I'm now on a promise
of "next time" and believe me "I'M STAYING IN TOUCH". |
