Today's Anger Management Apr 11, 2005 4:41 am
Mood: angry, 1625 Views
Today's anger management advice is:

When you are faced with a difficult and/or stressful situation, you must remain calm.

You should count to ten.

It is important to count to ten and to remain calm becuase this gives you the time and the clear head to think about how painfully you are going to kill/dismember/shoot/run over with your car/strangle with your shoelace/poison with Draino/hit on the back of the head with a dictionary/spray Raid in their eyes/open rotten eggs in their office/post ugly pictures of them in the bathroom/etc etc etc.

Today, I thought about all of those things. And I actually felt better after thinking them. Of course, I would never do them... well maybe the picture thing.

Rain... Apr 9, 2005 7:23 am
Mood: peaceful, 1350 Views
Am I the only one who likes/loves the rain? I only hear people complain whenever it is raining. But I find it relaxing. Romantic. Peaceful. Serene. Even Mr Smoochers, my cat, is calmer today. I think he likes the rain too. I open all my windows when it rains so that I can hear the sound better. If I can, I like to go for a walk in the rain... and it's always better without an umbrella. However, my Korean friends tell me that it is not good for your health to do that in Korea because of the acid/polluted rain. It sure doesn't smell polluted...

And here's another picture of Smoochers. (That is if KFF doesn't delete it... I'm always resubmiting pictures... and I don't know why. )

Once, I was "naughty" in the rain. Use your imagination.

Beautiful.... Apr 7, 2005 3:01 am
Mood: beautiful, 1458 Views

Why does my picture keep getting deleted from this post????? It's frustrating.

I keep adding it, but it gets removed.

So, if you can see my picture...it's a beautiful pink flower. I actually took a good picture this weekend with my camera... or at least I think it turned out nice.

I'm so glad the flowers are finally starting to bloom!!!! I love the spring. I hope to visit Seorak Mt soon... I hear it's beautiful there!

AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH... Korean! Apr 5, 2005 2:54 am
Mood: cranky, 1532 Views
Okay, my head hurts. I've been in Korean class all day... the teacher only speaks Korean. All of our papers are in Korean. Heck, even the writing on my pencil is in Korean.

And I thought that I was going to enjoy the next month away from work!!! WHAT WAS I THINKING?!?!?!?!

Oh.. and forget about lunch. I have to go back to work over my lunch hour and train my replacement to do my job.

So, now I am going to do some 단어공부하기... as if I didn't get enough during the day!

Oh, did I mention that my head hurts?

Naked Apr 2, 2005 8:04 pm
Mood: calm, 1603 Views
Sorry... no picture this time.

Ever notice how nice it is to be naked in your house? Everything is so much more comfortable. When I'm in my birthday suit, I don't worry about how fat I'm getting... cuz I don't notice my clothes are getting tighter.

안성 3.1 운동기념관 Apr 2, 2005 8:13 am
Mood: thoughtful, 1299 Views

Today I visited the Anseong March 1st Memorial. This is a very important place for conserving history. During the Japanese invasion, the Korean people showed their discontent by holding demonstrations. On 1 March 1919, thousands of people from all over the country and the world demonstrated their dissatisfaction at being controlled by Japan. Japan, of course, fought back and many people were killed and many homes/businesses were destroyed. Yet the Korean people still fought for their independance. 만세 was a word that was heard world-wide.
Anyway, if you are in the 안성area, you should stop by and see this beautiful piece of Korean/world history.

Yum Yum Yummy Food Mar 30, 2005 12:20 am
Mood: hungry, 1294 Views

Okay, who knows 부대찌개 (bu dae jeekae)? Yum yum yum yum. I love this food. For those of you who don't read or know Korean, it translates literally into military post stew. It comes from back in the war days when many Koreans were refugees and food was hard to find. As we all know, us Americans can be wasteful... especially the military! So the Koreans would gather our food scraps that we threw into the dump and they would boil it with kimchi and red pepper powder. Anyway, today this food has become famous in Uijeongbu (which is near many American military camps). But don't worry!!!! It's not made from left-over food anymore.

Last night, I had a very Korean experience! I brought MY OWN POT to a Korean restaurant and they put the ingredients for 부대찌개 into my pot. Then they gave me a plastic bag full of the broth. And a bowl of rice. I walked home with my stomach growling for food! I happened to take a picture of this very delicious food before I cooked it. It just makes me giggle to think about bringing my own stuff to a restaurant and getting take out soup in a bag. I guess if you haven't experienced it, you can't appreciate the humor in it. I can't imagine going to a restaurant in America and asking them to make some lasagna in my own pan.

Well, tonight I'm off to enjoy 닭갈비!!!!
