For just a short time after she has left, the scent of a woman stays with you.
It's on your clothes, your hands even your hair.
If her scent is still with you after years of her presence, surely you have loved.

Post from the past: "I love the 80s" Jun 18, 2008 1:21 am
Mood: relaxed, 1113 Views

A lot of people know the 80s due to the numerous episodes of "I love the 80s" on VH1. Well I did love the 80s, even if i was young, pimply and forced to go to school wearing those "elastic fit" corduroy pants...

The music was all Pop, every genre had to accept it if they were to be famous. So you'd Suzie and the Banshees on the same show as guys in bird costumes dancing to the Birdy Song that was number 1 on the charts. Every novelty songs got to number 1 magically, like a rule or something. People would only buy the Singles (45T) to play at parties to make everyone dance and sweat.
The groups at the time were Human League, Duran Duran, INXS, A-HA, The Cure, The Smiths, Elton John and every year Jimmy Cliff would bring a song for the summer... Do you remember XTC?
How about vinyl records? They might have be big and clumsy but a least you felt like you were actually getting something, some LPs were like books; now, records are just this metalic shiny things..

On TV, the kids shows were Battle of the Planets, Goldorak (Grendizer), Fraggle Rock and SAN-KU-KAI. I used to think it was so cool when you saw EOLIA dress during the starting titles... And then, AYATO was my name when going playing in the public park, my Buddy Michael was SIMAN, the man-monkey, pilot of the SAN-KU-KAI. We were figthing the ghosts of GOLEM XIII and FURIA for hours...
TOP of the POP and "Salut, les P'tits clous" had all the groups on and a few videos, the cameramen used to get really close and look-up noses and skirts and they loved the smoke machine...

Snickers was Marathon, Starburst was Opal Fruits, M&M's was Smarties and when i tell young people that; they look at me odd, i wonder if it really happen, where my childhood went?

I played with toy soldiers (Atlantics), I played with my GI Joe (who were a better quality than Action Man), I had a Six Millions Dollars Man figure, you could look from his telescopic eye or make his arms muscles move! I had a stretch green monster that i cut to see what was inside that made him stretch and ruined it. The toys were good in the 80s -remember Merlin game?- I wish i still had them but when you throw darts at your GI Joe for bullets holes or splash some alcohol/white spirit on your plastic soldiers and set them on fire for more realism, they don't last so long... sadly...

Jeeezzz, why did i grow up so fast...

Reflection... Jun 15, 2008 1:50 pm
Mood: calm, 1054 Views

How many people do you suppose base their entire identity on having a nemesis?
Their entire purpose is to lobby and 'rage' against another party or faction, to nurture their own hatred -- the only thing they know.
Bullies in high school would be nothing without their weaker counterparts. Their entire raison d'etre disappear and they're left with a void.
maybe they've never learned how to be fulfilled by anything but smug satisfaction at the misfortune of those they loathe.
People who vanquish -even if they don't because you're smarter- their enemies are left with no purpose.
Being tolerante, open-minded, having respect is important... I, of course, disagree with many facts and be the first to rage about it. But i keep in mind those principles even not being a regular (catholic) practising...

Dum, Dum, Dum,.... Jun 15, 2008 1:03 pm

The relationship I have with my iPod (got one as gift) may be verging on the unhealthy side. I spend three hours last night organizing my songs and making playlists of my various moods. Of course the iPod can't be totally blame for the music marathon.
But if you're in the market for a remedy and have time in your hands, and a ipod, go through all the songs on your gadget and give the appropriate song a rating -like five stars- once, playing those top ratings songs should you make feel better. i say to myself "you're a genius" (sarcasm).
Certains songs sometimes make me believe in God (did i just say that?), others provide stalwart evidence of the contrary. But the positive point is that i don't have to listen to the commercialized 'music' out of the radio. Even my Indie 103.1 suffer from commercials.
Music can do anything. If someone tells you otherwise or calls you a pacifist or peace-loving hippie then just jam a fist in their eye socket and keep on rocking.
Yes, i absolutely sleep with my ipod. Her name is Apple...

Have a beautiful day

I wrote a blog, thinking that my settings would allow principally Pepe -and with hope only him- be one of the few to read it.
Well, my knowledge of computer show that i was unable to do so and that several people were able to read this post...
To be honest i don't mind, reality is what it is... but please, just "forget" this post, i do appreciate the fact of not divulging my situation. This is just a fact of my life and not a complaint.
Thanks.

Poem -CHARLES BAUDELAIRE- Jun 5, 2008 7:31 pm

Poem de C.BAUDELAIRE "le gout du neant"

THE THIRST FOR THE VOID

My soul, you used to love battle's rumble.
Hope, whose sharp spur once kindled you like flame,
Will mount on you no more. Rest, without shame,
Old charger, since at every step you stumble.

Sleep now the sleep of brutes, proud heart: be humble.

O broken raider, for you outworn mettle,
Love has no joys, no fight is worth disputing.
Farewell to all the trumpeting and fluting!
Pleasure, have done, when brooding shadows settle,

The blooms of spring are vanquished by the nettle.

As snows devour stiff corpses in their welter,
Time wolfs my soul in, minute after minute.
I've seen the world and everything that's in it,
And I no longer seek in it for shelter;

Come, Avalanche! and sweep me helter-skelter.

Souvenirs musicaux... Jun 3, 2008 5:48 pm
Mood: calm, 1439 Views

After a long day of cleaning and packing my belongings, i'm ready to go. Where... i don't know but this is not the subject of this post. I have kept some "souvenirs" when i left France and i found a tape -yup, a tape... do you remember how it look like? - from the 80's. And oh surprise, this tape is a mix of rock/heavy metal.
I admit that, when 16/17 years old, i was proud of my Trust "antisocial" and Iron Maiden "the Beast" T-shirts....
I just thought that it would be funny to write down those groups in a post.

FACE 1.

TRUST 'Antisocial' * SATAN JOKERS 'Les fils du metal' * WARNING 'Rock City' * VULCAIN 'Le soviet supreme' * OCEAN 'Qu'on me laisse le temps' * ADX 'Memoire de l'eternel' * KILLERS 'Le fils de la haine' * TITAN 'L'assassin' * ATTENTAT ROCK 'Heavy metal'

FACE 2.

SAXON 'Princess of the night' * IRON MAIDEN 'Run to the hills' * AC/DC 'For those about to rock (we salute you) * ACCEPT 'Metal heart' * WARLOCK 'All we are' * MOTORHEAD 'Kill by death' * PANTERA 'Projects in the jungle' * LOUDNESS 'Road Racer'

As you can see, the Face 1 is only french heavy metal, and i admit that some of those groups were quite good at the time.
The Face 2 is about GB metal but also german -Accept, Warlock (Doro Pesch, singer,is one maybe the sexiest girl of heavy) and japan ! -Loundness- i was quite "in" at the time... LoL.

Have a beautiful day,

Daily report... May 30, 2008 5:33 pm
Mood: anxious, 1454 Views

*My laughing buddha was destroyed this morning due to a inacurate move of my hand. I was heartbroken. I was on my knees yelling "there is no God! there is no God!", now i'll worshipping my (2nd) statue of a non-so much- laughing, more pensive Buddha. It's not as "happy" but it's on top of my TV, so i can meditate and watch -Bill O'Reilly- at the same time...

*I found out that Steven Seagal is a rockstar. Time to order some 'groupie tee' and some mocassins.

*2 months ago, Office Depot had 100-packs of blank CD's going for 2 for 1 so now i have 200 CD-R's that i'll never use. If anyone wants a CD of anything we can trade for... sexual favors ?!? and/or gratuitous compliments, at my discretion (of course).

*This morning, looking in the mirror, my eyes spotted my first white hair on my torso... jeezzz ! is it a revenge from my defunct ceramic little Buddha ?

*I just realized what a great song 'Pleasant valley sunday' by the Monkees is. Maybe it's lame to like the Monkees, but i'm a lame person lately.. so get over it!

PS: Incidentally, if you're wondering, I don't actually worship anything or watch (this dumba$$) O'Reilly. Also, you shouldn't have been wondering.

Have a beautiful day,
Frenchguy.
