I have a crush... yup, Summer GLAU from "Terminator: the Sarah Connor chronicles". She has a... 'je ne sais quoi' well i do know. I like her.
And then... there comes a time in every man's life when he reaches a certain age and realises that something is wrong.
It happened to me twice last night and once again this morning.
I'm usually not the type of person to be worried about any of natures little 'problems', but this one has me feeling slightly perturbed.
Has anyone else found themselves whistling along to Britney Spears 'songs'?

When attempting to bake coconut macaroons, best to check you haven't let the cookbook slip a couple of pages while your back is turned. Otherwise, you get to the act of pouring the mixture out on to a baking tray and think "Crap, I don't remember that, and I haven't a damned clue" then you just end up to spoon it onto the tray in dollops instead. Also, make sure you've enough eggs, or you'll have to use one, where it says two.
That way, when you finally put the 'thing' in the oven, you'll be spared looking back at the unopened bag of dessicated coconut on the worktop and wondering how they didn't make it into the list of ingredients.
All this also reminds me of cooking studies at school, when one year I got really bored, and decided to make coconut squares for everyone. And while handing a small bag of coconut squares to a classmate, who was a polish girl with a large mole on her top lip.
ME: hello, I made some coconut squares.
MOLE-LIP polish girl takes the bag and look at it doubtfully.
MOLE-LIP girl: So are you gay then?
ME: (feebly) No.
SHE DIDN'T EVEN SAY THANK YOU.

Five weeks till i board a plane and return to France.
it can’t be a literal return, i am not the same, i will be -must be- different there or it will be like i’d never left, a return as opposed to a move forward (uh?!?!)
five weeks is such a short time that i am suddenly panicked, not by all i still wish to do or accomplish, panicked at the end of this "adventure", this feeling of floating, where all is up in the air, potential, possible, within reach. the fact that my opportunities are again reachable tells me that all those minor accomplishments and minor setbacks are part of my life.
As goes the old french adage. 'Fight your natural inclination, it will come charging back'.

As I had a nice dinner on Christmas evening (24th) at Camille's house (french friend), I spend the 25th of december with... myself.
Like a good, lazy, old bachelor... i decided to "treat" myself for diner and was quickly ready for a short ride to my "next-to-the corner" Carl's Junior. After a difficult moment, i opted for a SuperStar (Large combo) and 2 big hamburgers...
I had to stop by the 7eleven for some "sugar/dessert fix".
Well... to make short. After eating Carl's junior, it would be wise not to eat, as I did, a full large bag of marshmallow for dessert.
Did i mention that I was drinking wine with my burgers?
As of today, my stomach still hurt as hell while being "fluffy" like a marshmallow.

At this point of the year, my resolution to "keep in" my inner Grinch character and to present a Red-nose reindeer attitude to all is beginning to slow down. Well, a lot actually... It's not my fault.
Despite the efforts of the advertising industry to get me into the holiday shopping spirit as early as last June, I have yet to get into this. I am not suggesting that every one needs to have a "Very Brady Christmas," but I do think that certain conditions need to be right in order to feel the sense of holiday excitement.
To begin with, the weather plays a big part in my "festive" spirit. Though most of the neighbours tries to get me into the spirit by hanging lights on trees and holding holiday sing-alongs, it's hard to get into the "White Christmas" mood when the temperature hasn't dropped below 32 degrees. The Christmas carols that people sing have had to be updated with new lyrics such as, "Frosty the Mudman" and "Do You Hear What I Hear?… Yes, That's the Sound of the Bi Hall Air Conditioning System."
The holidays have become solely about shopping. Turn on the radio, and you're likely to be bombarded with commercials announcing, "There are only 20 days left before Christmas." I found this to be an insult to my intelligence. Thank you very much, but I know when Christmas is—Dec. 27. (These reminders seem pointless to me, because, as everyone knows, no one really starts worrying about buying gifts until they announce, "There are only two more shopping hours before Christmas, and the K-Mart is about to close.")
Make me think to recycle those Christmas cards that i bought 3/4 years ago... i should maybe send some of them.
This lack of holiday spirit makes me look alike the Grinch. (Praise Him)
In the meantime... Merry Christmas, Happy Hollydays, Happy Hannukah, Seasons Greetings, Joyeux Noel and all that stuff....
