My eyes are fine now. I opened a fresh pair of contact this morning, and although it burned my eyes also, they adjusted quickly and my day commenced with no further ado. lol Never touch your eyes or contact lenses after slicing jalapenos!

They actually have spicy jalapeņos now? Just about everyone i have had around the planet was more sour than spicy.
If you like your spice, go to a thai or laotian mom and pop store and get those long slender red and green babies.

Humm... of course, there are spicier peppers than jalapeno as Calson wrote in his post. But he should have read the post with more attention... Jalapeno 'juice' IN THE EYES are enough to make cry anyone.

Hey Dave! This is Tejas! Everything's spicy here! Believe me, I'm no stranger to hot and spicy anything, but this one hot little devil got the better of me. My spice ego is still recovering. LOL

Whoa Carlson! What do we have here, eh?! I know those numbers mean something, but you got me. lol Oh yes, the mighty habanero. I have a story about an orange one I ran into several years back. We wrestled each other until I fell ... resulting in a shameful public display.
I vomited.
I have the deepest respect (or is it fear?) for Senor Habanero, using it sparingly in spanish rice only.
Hey, sounds like cool neighbors. lol

Oh! My mom makes gae jang with jalapenos also because we're all nuts here in Texas. LOL However, she uses a special set of chopsticks that are about 18 inches in length to stir while stewing. I once made "real" western omelettes one Sunday morning for breakfast, grilling fresh jalapenos to throw in them. Everyone had to leave the house because the fumes extinguished any fresh oxygen left within. It's lethal, but I absolutely love them! I'm such a freak. lol

LOL, nice one fawnzee..kind of looks like Hollywood squares now that I look at it. Having spent a good portion of my formative years in South Texas I know what you are saying.
Based on the spicy power chart, its seems my buddy, the Thai pepper is right there at the top. I use them in just about every meal...sparingly that is.

Yes... the Thai chili IS one of the spiciest, which is why that jalapeno took my by surprise! I felt like such an amateur. LOL
