Girls (or guys) are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. The boys (or girls) don’t want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they get the rotten apples from the ground that isn’t as good, but easy. So the apples up top think something is wrong with them when in reality they’re amazing. They just have to wait for the right boy (or girl) to come along, which is the one who’s brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree. | ||

Nothing worth having in life is easy to achieve. Speaking metaphorically, try picking a middle-management apple, help it become a much better apple. When it finally ascends to the top, it can dump you for a trophy fruit and you can feast on sour grapes eheh... Whaddya lookin at hah?

hmmm i think you meet your apple according to what kind of apple you are. misery loves company. if you strive to be the best, you can only get the best. if you are a sah gah gee apple...then you'll get a sah gah gee apple. if you see all the jerry springer, maury, tyra banks show ppl: they all kind of look the same, act the same, talk the same, view life the same. it's up to us to stop the stupidity and stop achieving higher than what you are. that is why a sah gah gee will always be a sah gah gee.

Apples are apples no matter if they are on the top of the tree or on the bottom of the tree. Interesting. If you want something better wouldn't it be more interesting to pick from a different tree? Very interesting.

I like the parable. It is just a metaphor, not a literal truth. I am looking at this from a Western guy's perspective. I think also that many Korean girls should read this comment. Too many times they think it is their appointed duty to go out with the first guy who puts his hand on his knee or the last guy who gets their phone number. For such a smart race of people Korean women make stupid choices (with Westerners especially) instead of being smart and picking the guy that they should be going home with, not the guy that they think it would look cool to go home with, knowing full well they are make a joke out of themselves. Or worse, just going out with the last guy they happened to talk to. Are Korean women afraid of picking the Western guy that they think is right for them because they know they won't stay in Korea long (if they are teachers) anyway? I guess the thinking is "since this is short term, I might as well go out with the guy who is going to act the coolest and most bad-ass. I am not going to marry that nice guy over their probably no matter how serious it gets, so why not just go for the quick empty fling?" I don't buy this argument because a 10 or 12 month affair that actually means something is preferable to a 1 or 2 night affair that is just a squirt in the dark, so to speak. Cross-cultural awareness you see, more than just exchanging of bodily fluids for a few hours (if you are lucky). Korean women sometimes are a little too over-eager with Western guys, and Western guys just respond by wanting more and more at a faster rate and giving less and less in return. Actually, Western men are really cheating themsleves too out of what could really be a wonderful relationship, if short-lived. Are foreigners seen as a harmless and exotic quickie? This fuels the stereotype foreigners in Korea have of Korean women. A little self-respect is actually a turn on to some guys, too bad it is not always practiced. Of course, if you I was the guy getting all the apples I might night be writing this either. So is it just a case of sour apples?

I laughed when july21 typed "a 1 or 2 night affair that is just a squirt in the dark, so to speak.". What? You wanted to know why I laughed? Well, read on my fellow KFFers!!! Well, if any affair is one squirt in the dark, then that explains why it is just 1 or 2 nights only, haha. The second night was a chance to redeem yourself. Plus, it's better to turn on the light. Anyway, why be a like a piece of fruit waiting for someone to pick you? You'll just sit on the tree and wither until you eventually fall off. In all that time, the only thing you'll get is bitter and rotten. Then, the only thing that will eat you are worms and grubs. The moral of this story: "Don't just sit around and expect things to come to you. Otherwise, you're just fruity". Take care, f/f

I wish I could look into the minds of Korean women like July21 and answer the many questions he and everyone else has... Men have wanted to know about what women want for a long time. But we never will know what they really want or why they do what they do. To claim that "Korean women" (what a generalisation!) are being shallow, is to claim to know what they were thinking...Sorry that is not possible...you are only inferring from your limited experiences and those of others. Maybe they (Korean women) really are waiting for someone else whilst having fun...maybe they are not. You don't always know. I remember someone saying that they are only in the club to listen to the music and be with their friends, or only on this site to make friends...but these people are also open to something more meaningful if it presents itself. You gotta play the game somehow in order to get somewhere...sitting at home moping ain't gonna help ya.

But wouldn't the apple at top eventually rot and fall? at the end... it's all apples from the same tree. Lets enjoy life and not talk about who's higher and lower. too much to think about. my 2cents
