Rugby and Sebastien CHABAL

YUP YUP... Rugby season is ON !!!!
The English Premiership (known as the Guinness Premiership because of the league's sponsorship by Guinness) is a professional league competition for rugby union football clubs in the top division of the English rugby system. There are, at present, twelve clubs in the Premiership. Clubs competing in the Guinness Premiership qualify for Europe's two club competitions, the Heineken Cup and the European Challenge Cup. The current champions are the London Wasps
But i support the SALES SHARKS (05/06 champion) because of Sébastien Chabal (born 8 December 1977)He is a French rugby union player who plays at number eight for Sale Sharks and France, and has also played as a lock for France. He is known for his beard and his long hair, leading to French rugby fans nicknaming him "l'Homme des Cavernes"—the Caveman.
At 6.2 (1.90) and 253lbs (115Kilos) -I have the same 'mesurements' - He is renowned for his hard-hitting and aggressive style of play, but a short temper has led to disciplinary problems, most recently on 26 February 2006, when he received a red card for stamping on Wasps player Lawrence Dallaglio. Chabal has acquired cult status at Sale, enjoying the nickname "Seabass", and also affectionately by English rugby fans as the "homme des grottes". He has developed a strong online following who call themselves "Chabalists.
If you want to see some big "hits" from S. CHABAL, just check YouTube. One of the most wellknowned is when Masoe received a crunching tackle from Chabal when he played New Zealand in the Autumn Tests of 2006. This made Masoe stagger and took minutes to recover from the devastating yet legal blow from "L'homme des cavernes" or "The Caveman". Speculation into Chabal's aggressiveness could stem from when the All Blacks performed the Haka, the Kapo O Panga version, whilst the All Blacks did the controversial throat slitting gesture, Masoe was staring at his opposite number eight. This could have been the reason for the bone crunching tackle from Chabal, though there is no evidence for this.
I like this guy, if i was gay he would be my "Prince Charmant"... LoL

Have a beautiful day,
Frenchguy.

What an awesome post! I love Chabal, he is a fantastic player. And Iremember the game where he knocked out Masoe. he also broke the nose of our number 5 ali Williams in the next/same game in a massive impact.

Chabal is a good reason to watch any rugby game!

Owen!!!
Of course, pardonne me, i forgot to mention NewZealand...
NewZealand team, the famous All-Black with the Maori dance/chant

"Ka Mate"
Leader: Ringa pakia! Slap the hands against the thighs!
Uma tiraha! Puff out the chest!
Turi whatia! Bend the knees!
Hope whai ake! Let the hip follow!
Waewae takahia kia kino! Stamp the feet as hard as you can!

Leader: Ka mate, ka mate 'it is death, it is death (or i will die)
Team: Ka ora' Ka ora' 'it is life, 'it is life (or: I live)
Leader: Ka mate, ka mate 'It is death, 'It is death
Team: Ka ora Ka ora " 'It is life, 'It is life
All: Tēnei te tangata pūhuruhuru This is the hairy man
Nāna i tiki mai whakawhiti te rā ...Who caused the sun to shine again for me
Upane...Upane Up the ladder Up the ladder
Upane Kaupane" Up to the top
Whiti te rā,! The sun shines!
He! He!

I invite all of the KFF members to go on YouTube and watch the Haka from the NZ Rugby team... there is such an intensity. You can't find anything like this except in Rugby.

Owen, do you remember when the French team was 'defying' the All-Black during the WorldCup?? it's still giving me shivers... LoL.

Coucou ... Isn't Chabal an attractive man?
The most important for me thought is that he kick asses while playing rugby.
Beautiful day to you.

FG38,

Thanks for the personal thought on your post. Yup, the season has started. We have our first practice Monday here in Oklahoma. My wheels aren't turning that fast anymore, but I don't have to be fast to play second row. I just have to like getting my ears pinned back!

The All Blacks do have some intimidating chants prior to games. They can be fun to watch.

I really wish Rugby were an olympic sport, but like mixed martial arts and skydiving (the other two sports I practice) there's not much chance.

Enjoy the season mon ami!

Hey Lance,
True, it would be nice if Rugby was in the Olympics... we can still dream.
Otherwise, regarding my speed on the field... i would be likely a Caterpillar Tractor than a sport car.. trust me. LOL. I thought it would be fun (for me) to tease people about my hypothetical velocity.
Beautiful day to you
