If you work too hard, there is never any time for her. If you don't work enough, you're a good-for-nothing bum. If she has a boring repetitive job with low pay, it's exploitation. If you have a boring repetitive job with nlow pay, you should get off your a$$ and find something better. If you get a promotion ahead of her, it's favoritism. If she gets a job ahead of you, it's equal opportunity. If you mention how nice she looks, it's sexual harassement. If you keep quiet, it's male indifference. If you cry, you're a wimp. If you don't, you're insensitive. If you make a decision without consulting her, you're a chauvinist pig. If she makes a decision without consulting you, she's a liberated woman. If you buy her flowers, you're after something. If you don't, you're not thoughtful. If you're proud of your achievements, you're an egotist. If you're not, you're not ambitious. I think this is very ridiculous. Such dilemma exist for men because the relationship between men and women have been "subject" and "object" where "subject" was privileged and centralized for all initiations and superiority throughout history. And this history was established male power structure. The dilemma is that such tradition that have centralized men as "subject" have backfired against men himself. The very idea that have elevated men is now oppressing men and this is men's invention. Don't think that women don't have same kind of dilemma, frustration and confusion in relation to men. Only difference is men are still privileged to express it while women were silenced throughout history. But now if she does express herself in relation to her dilemma with men, she is simply consider as "angry feminist" or "woman who is having her period". So even the serious issues such as gender discrimination can simply be reduced to as reflection of women's irrational emotion. I recall reading this article from Korean female journalist who stated that she have never felt any feelings of jealousy or envy toward men throughout her life except for one. When she's walking late at night. While majority of men can do this without any feelings of fear or consideration for any possibility of experiencing violence, she stated as a woman, that was never the case for women when they are alone walking at night. All men can only be considered as a pontential criminal not because she have double standard but such bias is absoluutely necessary for her safety. If a school has an Asian Club, it's promoting diversity. If a school has a WASP Club, it's promoting white supremacy. Hypocrisy is rampant everywhere isn't it? I 'got' a lot of fun from your post...good stuff...lol
