First they came...

4/7/2008 6:07 pm
This is a poem attributed to Pastor Martin Niemoller (1892-1984) about the inactivity of german intellectuals following the Nazi rise to power and the purging of their chosen targets, group after group.

.First, they came for the communists
and i did not speak out
because i was not a communist.
.Then they came for the jews
and i did not speak out
because i was not a jew.
.Then they came for the trade-unionists
and i did not speak out
because i was not a trade-unionist.
.Then they came for the catholics
and i did not speak out
because i was a protestant.
.Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me
(Pastor M. Niemoller)

Just came a thought, instead of boycotting an event, we could find athletes, politicians ready to honor the memory of T. Smith, J. Carlos actions (Black athletes raising their fist on the podium). A simple gesture could underline a dictatorial regim of which many countries are submit to. Economic interest and profits are so important...
This Games have a sulfur odor as those of 36 in Berlin. This Games, if we remember, were the shadows of the IIIe reich...

Beautiful day to all,

Hey Korn,
yes... i saw it.
In Paris, it was a mess too. But i would like to see, instead of protesting during the "flame route", some athletes or politicians or regular people protesting during the game... just to show to people how they feel about the situation. Ansd thus, without media censorship
The french chanel show a reportage from the chinese tv... it was just propaganda. the journalist explaining that he was in the middle of so many french families (dads with child on their shoulders), waving chinese flags during the parade and telling the press that they support chinese politics instead of Tibet.
This is what make me upset. censorship...
Anyone can disagree about politics, this is the right of every person ... but you have to show all the aspects of the "problem"

One should always stick up for justice.
It is a very American (and Korean), and human thing to do.
