in my cultural emotions class we conducted an experiment. this experiment entailed going to a busy area and stand and do nothing. we couldn't sit and people watch. we were to stand there and be a tree and observe. some of you know that i am a very active person...like to look around, socialize, and give my input. it was hard for me to do this. stand and do nothing. rely on my senses to be aware of my surroundings...but to stand and do nothing. it made me realize that i'm NOT the center of the universe. some people ignored me, some people came up and asked if i was ok, some passed by and asked why i was just standing there, some thought i was retarded... i felt like the laziest person in the world. it made me think, if i was the bum, waiting on the street...is this how it feels to be ignored and hated? to stand and do nothing...i felt empty...unproductive... i was reflecting back on my cabo trip...we took a whole day on Friday and lounged. it was great to just relax and do nothing. but this was different...i could not speak, socialize, react, or move. i want to go to cabo again and be unproductive. that is one think i'll definitely want to do again...at least i'm resting and hanging out with friends and soaking in the rays... |

DB, Yes!i do know that it makes one feel awful and empty to be ignored and hated.Espacially so when u wanna talk to people coz u do like them and need their company and friendship.Who else has known and expressed it live better than me. Regards Sheen/BT
