it was weird, i was listening to steve harvey in the morning.

some lady wrote to him complaining how her man was a crack head. she married him knowing he "used to be" a crackhead. she thinks that he's using again. but she still wanted to stand by her man.

he was stating that...how can you stand by your man when he doesn't stand by you?

it hit me...he was so right. how can a woman stand by her man when he doesn't stand by you. or even, when he can't even stand on his own. how is he supposed to stand by you when he can't do it for himself?

in any case, the wound is still fresh, but healing.

i have a couple guys in my life now as my good friends that bring me hope. well...men are men...boys are boys...guys are guys...but...they are good guys.

Fresh but healing?

Great to hear I guess. You are well on your way into 'recovery phase', DB! I understand and support your decision. Good girl.
How grows the hair? ...and the smile?

BTW,

It's best to think of a good and uplifting piece of the positive: guy friends tend bridge the gap.

But with regards to issue of change and what can be done with past wounds, please understand this one thing:

We can't change the past; We can only come to terms with it. As for the future...THAT we can change: as changing the past is now necessary in order to live your own life more fully.

Don't dwell on this pain any further, DB, by locking yourself in to only one version of your past experience with your ex-, as EVERYDAY will begin to start looking like a sad yesterday.

Hopefully you will continue to 're-imagine' your past, as you are wise in your ability to challenge those bad experiences in not allowing them to chronically and further negatively impact your future happiness.

Way to go, DB!
Ms. Independent has never look so good...

Don't brew any further in the negative...
You don't do negative that well anyway...lollll

Get up,then!
Brush the dust off your astray...
...and get up again fighting!

I guarantee this...IF you continue in your 'metamorphosis of changing the past for good', you will more than invariably change the present as well. In fact, in changing the way YOU now relate to your past pain...
(Psst! that is spelled...p-a-s-t, ok?)

...will be THE ONLY WAY for you to more fully live in the present, and believe me,...
LIVING IN THE PRESENT TENDS TO OPEN THE DOOR TO LOVING IN A WAY THAT IS TRUE AND UNCONDITIONAL.(smiling here)

DO YOU DB! ...as only YOU can do it.

There is a saying goes "Heaven helps those who help themselves."
