Last night I found a box I haven't seen in 6 years.
In it was 25 years of memories of my pen pal. We started writing in 1978. Over the years he sent a total of 14 Christmas/birthday cards.
I even found a photo he sent from when he was in the Army...a 2nd Lt.
I do have every letter he sent me.
The last card he sent was Christmas 2002. We lost track of each other in October 2003, right around his birthday. In a way that sparked the downward spiral for me. Shortly after we lost track of each other, my mother died. A few months later my husband and I divorced. A year or so later I injured mt back, lost my job and home and beloved pets. The last couple of years have been very hard foor me. I don't blame the pen pal for my misfortune, but it would have been better to have my friend to write to for love and support.
This is the last card I got.

Hi Miss llsaeng

I’m amazed for almost 19 years (minus the 6 yrs.) you kept all the letters, photos that Mr. Army send to you
I think it is a coincidence when Mr. Army stops communicating with you and the incidence happen to your life

Are you expecting that one day he will send to you a letter explaining why he stops??

Anyway there is a possibility that he will read your blog, (modern generation) unless he don’t read blogs, he read your blog but he don’t like to communicate with you, or his died

Have a nice day

I guess ur a little like me. You keep everything. I found my letters from during my college years. I'm still going through it. It's amazing the old memories that come back. But for me, its mostly new discoveries of things that I've forgotten completely. It must be my age.

Georgina...I doubt he will visit KFF, but I hope he does, or some one he knows does and will mention it.

aigo!!!oppa!!! Amazing how age affects us. I'm looking at 50 in the face now (just 3 years away). I doubt I will get rid his letters. He meant a great deal to me...my best friend and confidant.
There are time when I feel nostalgic for younger days and happier times, then I remember all the stupid stuff I did! oi! Some memories are best forgotten.
