the other morning i woke up shivering from an awful and scary nightmare...normally i don’t remember my dreams...however this particular dream was so vivid and i even felt it sick to my stomach... when i was growing up i used to have this recurring nightmares on and off...you know the ones that you try so hard to wake up in your dreams but you just can’t...like the dream that i had recently, most of my nightmares are dreams of “being chased” by someone, someone evil... most of you might laugh but i grew up with this same dream over and over... in my dreams/nightmares, there are always three main characters: my helpless grandmother, evil person/people, and me... with slight variations, the dream goes something like this, somehow i am being chased by north korean soldiers who i tend to mistake as good people only to hear my grandmother shouting at me to run away...i don’t really remember how i wake up, but i know i eventually wake up shaking and out of breath... again, on my recent dream, i was trying to run away from this evil man (some tv character from one of the show i watch once in awhile, i’m embarrassed to say)...again, my grandmother is watching over me and yelling at me to run...next thing i know i’m driving a car and that evil man is chasing me...i remember getting into an accident and that evil man has finally caught me... luckily(I guess) i woke up just right after so that’s all i remember…*sigh* it saddens me that normally I don’t remember my “regular” dreams... yet i tend to get this recurring, “being chased after” nightmares, which is still vivid in my mind...which in turn brings me back the old recurring nightmares of my younger days... being superstitious, i even cancelled my meeting with a friend...lame huh? does anyone get same repetitive dreams??? |

Sab, Yes I always have dreams, which I can remember most of them. Only once in awhile I will forget my dream. Some of the dream that I has, come true in reality too. If you really want to remember your dreamz, there is a formula that I used to remember my dream. The pillow I use will be on support my neck, the neck just fit on the pillow. It similar to the Japanese's pillow..

Sabeeneh, It sounds like your Grandmother played an important role in your life! I wonder if she is still live? I too have these dreams from time to time, and for me it occurs when I feel insecure or unstable. When I have these dreams, I try to get closer to God, as he brings sense of security in my life. I also try to exercise more and add some meditation to my daily regiment. I hope you will be able to get goodnight sleep soon. Axial

I know how it feels when you said, you feel sick and hurt your stomach. I do have nightmare when I am really closed from outside and keep everything inside me. It comes up to bad dream. I had to woke up because I couldn't breathe for real and I really had some heart sick feeling... At that time, I'm scared of having heart attack than nightmare. That's what I scare of more than nightmare. That's why I try to think the things positive. If I don't, I know It'll catch me in my dream on bad way...But it's not easy... Sometimes I can control my dream. lol If I want to change the situations or place or people who were there..I can change and I stay in the dream..( I don't know if you have that experiences ). The most hard thing to control is that when you wanna run but you stucked on the same place and just trying to move the legs..haha... But still there at same place.... yeah, I hope tonight will be better for you... Hugs.

Hello Sabeeneh, My worst nightmare.... and i wasn't drunk or high LOL . A monkey riding a tricycle chasing me... i made so many attempts to escape but he was still able to catch me. I saw myself jumping in the car of a friend, turn my head and saw anything ... i then start to look at the road again when i felt 2 hands blocking my view... Man, i made such a jump out from bed... I still don't understand the meaning of this dream... LOL Have a good day, Frenchguy

Hmmmmm....dreams, eh? No, I don't dream as often as I used to??? Correction, I should say I hardly recall them.....well, let me "recall" from Psych 1, hehe...and say that it's incorrect to say that we don't dream. Rather, we don't remember or recall our dreams, but we do dream alright, everyday. Researchers have tested these people in their dream laboratories who insist that they "never" dream. Yet, when they are awaken in their middle of REM sleep, they can recall Being chased, flying, falling, etc. are the classic examples, and a "chased dream" is interpreted as one who is trying to avoid something?? An interpretation, that is not scientifically valid, but some people tend to believe it, like signs and astrology.....although since man's fascination with dream interpretations have been a historical one, is it legitimate? Only if it were true....then again, what of Nostradamus?...lol Well, the pioneering 'ol chaps, Freud and Jung have put their theories as to why we dream, but it's still a mystery.... Interestingly, in "lucid dream" a person can control one's dreams and one is aware that he or she is dreaming.....skill that can be learned....hehe, it would've been handy when I was having a wet dream....lol Most of my dreams were in "black and white", with only few in colors. You don't sleeptalk, do you? How about sleepwalk? Hey, do blind people dream? What do you think? Hmmmmmmm....am I dreaming writing this reply?? What do you think, master Zhuangzi?

Hey Sab unni.. I have some really good dream interpretation sites I go to lol.. They give some pretty good ideas on what dreams mean This is what it said for the chasing thing 'Chase To dream that you are being chased, signifies that you are avoiding a situation that you do not think is conquerable. It is often a metaphor for some form of insecurity. In particular, to dream that you are chased by an animal, represents your own unexpressed and unacknowledged anger which is being projected onto that animal. Alternatively, you may be running away from a primal urge or fear.' 'Running To dream that you are running away from someone, indicates an issue that you are trying to avoid. You are not taking or accepting responsibility for your actions. In particular, if you are running from an attacker or any danger, then it suggests that you are not facing and confronting your fears.' No idea if that is even close.. but Unni everything will be ok! I'll stand guard with your grandmother and watch over you in your dreams

sabeeneh, it could b a sign of things to come, so dont take it to lightly. it maybe not be exact to whats in your dream but of event that is symbolic. I am not trying to frighten you. But I do always have dreams of event or people whom I'll meet later in my life.

HI Sab, long time! Well I actually have heaps of chasing dreams and I read in this stupid dreams book that it means your under a lot of stress. (The book said that explanation for almost everything) Anyway, I know my chasing dreams are BS but some ppl dreams seem to mean something. I've come to a conclusion that my dreams are all BS except this one I had in my final year of HS. It was a excellent dream because it incorporated all the elements of a good dream such as "blood" (hmm don't ask me why that's a good sign and other stuff. I had a friend who i had dream where she vividly remembered this person, even when she woke up she asked her mother and found out it was her aunt that passed away long time ago. She never saw a photo of her before but when she saw the photo she was totally freaked out... hmm so maybe dreams do mean something... Anyway, maybe you are under a lot of stress not sure.

Sabeeneh well, we all do get dreams when we feel empty or lacking something within us... but then dream is only a dream,, nothing more. don't be so superstitious... however , one thing i do acknowledge is that one you see in your dream does appear as one of the main issues in your life,, be it tangible or intangible......call it a clairvoyancy or not...!!! i've noticed that you have van Gogh's work on the side.. just make sure you don't turn 'bipolar' with too much dreams... LOL..

hello, I have some ideas for you, that may help. basic strategy, relax in bed, before sleep, body and mind, and focus on pleasant, nice stuff. (pay very close attention to the nice things you pick to focus on, as you drift off to sleep, that will help you get to sleep, and maybe set a diffeert stage preventing that bad dream. 2.as u dream,(or before) try to have some control/ability to direct it, give yourself the power to defend yourself, in the dream, special power, magic, what ever, but something that u dont have to run. 3. Do not run from what is chasing u. stay and face it no matter what. it is much better than run. I think if you stay/not run or defend self some way, u will end ur dream. 4. There is possiblilty that the bad guy reminds u of some unpleasant situation in real life, that you are uncomfortable, or limited in power, or scared of. Think of it, and maybe put what ever situation in more realistic terms. and if you face up to/defend self vs bad guy in real life safely, your bad dream may go away. maybe the bad guy is just uncertainty about life, and if you feel safe/confident, maybe have less bad dream. just some guesses, from a guy in the MH field good luck to you
