This is an observation made by my non-Korean friend who is familiar with both Korean and American Coffee Houses… First of all, these coffee houses are in la vicinity and American Coffee Houses ranges from Starbucks, pricey, to hole in the walls, etc… warning: this is an observation of two women, no one but of two women... KCH: all valet, usually ending with 50cents but expecting a rounded off value ACH: various KCH: rarely no lap tops ACH: mostly lap tops KCH: everyone are talking to one another ACH: well, computer screen… =) KCH: in groups, usually 3 or more… ACH: individuals (by themselves) KCH: indoor=smoking outdoor patio=smoking ACH: indoor=no smoking outdoor patio=no smoking (not all of course) KCH: K-town girls (in honor of sweetpepe) with big name brand wallets and purses, actually (most k-town guys SEEM to have Louis Vuitton wallet) ACH: various KCH: one person pays all ACH: dutch (wait, they come by themselves...lol) warning: this is an observation of two women, no one but two women... oh and i have to put this in, in honor of sweetpepe's k-town scene... just discovered that the korean bar across from the coffee shop is a room salon according to the valets... Would definitely like to know what you observe around the coffee(tea) houses that you frequent !!! |

I loved the Korean coffee houses...the sumptuous sofas and comfortable, quiet interior....and in the one I went to, I was surprised to find we all could keep our shoes on...I was shocked at the price of the tea and coffee though...about 4 times more than the NZ price in Yr 2000, but now our prices have really increased so may be more on a par....it was a luxury to be in that coffee house, though, and I also went to a smaller one, that just had regular tables/chairs... with wonderful sandwiches, cakes and Moccachinos ...was right beside MacDonalds...and it was lovely to go there often, after the children had their MacDonalds first...
