Today is August 8th,2005, My work outs are realatively going well, doing 2 or 3 day splints for my lifting and doing much cardio, vollyball, spinning, and some swimming as possible. My eating hs gotten better but it can stand more improvements. I am feeling stronger and more in shape to do better workouts. Lately I have been in the gym too long, slower workouts, and talking. But the slow pace makes the workout too long but its injur free. The fact taht I didn't drink for 3 weeks, hleped onthe diet part and the amount of time I had for working out. If I can only quite drinking altogether, I am sure the six pack is only a matter of time. The big question is do I want a nice body, and feel healthy, and not have a social life. I will do my best to balance the two. One think I noticed is that my back, latismas dorsi, is not responding as fast as my chest, however, it is getting stronger. My delts I can blast if need be. I have to stay on point on my legs and stomach. I think another 2 to 3 months I should be where I want to be and maintain. I do have to add that , it is hard losing the fat from the face. I have no Idea when and how the face got so big. Must of been the Creatin I was taking. I will try to get to 170lbs in the next month or so and maintain and cut up. And bring up and work on the body parts wihch are or is behind. Next month I will try a stricked diet to see how it has an affect on my body. Most of th body part, I am trying to do 3 to 4exercise with 3 sets after warmup at 80 to 85% intensity for bigger muscles and 2 to 3 for smaller body parts at high concentration. Thats it for today. Ha, I started working out about 2 months ago. I go to the gym about every night and work out different sections of my body every day I go. I've lost 20 pounds since I started, but I'm still at 189-191. My weight loss comes in chunks of about 3-4 pounds and then stabalizes. I try not taking any diet supplements other than the occasional protein/workout bar(I just had one that tasted like cardboard, but they all do, don't they?). As for my diet plan, I'm trying to follow the food pyramid. So I intake a majority of carbohydrates, then try and eat as much lean meats, fruits, and vegetables as I can. I avoid fastfood and oily stuff like the plague. My carbohydrates consist mostly of whole grains and oats, I try to stay away from processed carbs like flour as much as possible. I absolutely stay away from starch carbs like potatoes and corn. I wish there was a faster way to lose weight, but I think losing everything slowly is a lot healthier than dropping everything at once. My target weight is 165... I think I'll give it a year before I hit that though. Unfortunately, one of my workout buddies has gotten sick and my other workout buddy is going to Korea for a few weeks. So I'm stuck doing a high rep/light weight routine when I lift. Well, that's my tidbit on working out.

WOW... you guys are such inspirations... I was doing Atkins and doing 45 min or cardio and light weights. I only lost 5 pounds in two weeks but my clothes didn't feel loser. I gave up the Atkins and I think i will stick with the pyramid as well...

I had to take my physical fitness test for the Army today. It consists of 2 minutes of pushups, 2 minutes of situps and a 2-mile run. Doesn't sound hard, but it is difficult. You can't rest during the pushups and situps and the run... well, I hate running. Good luck with your workout and diet!

Every time you post, I'll let you know what is going on with me. Wish me luck!

Lincoln! Stay inspired! I have trained many people in the world and there is no secret other than commitment -- be a committer, not a quitter! It is the same as wishing, if we truly wish then providence arrives and the wish is reality. The trick is truly internalizing the wish, making it paart of your subconscious being and then one day awakening to the reality that you have become the person you dreamed! But a couple of practical things. One -- try bee's pollen! Start with one table spoon and work up to two. It is a metabolic regulator and will regulate your cravings as well as providing all the essential nutrients you need....Two. never eat in the evening!!!!! I say this because most of what we do to lose weight is work out BUT working out isn't going to help you lose weight (in fact, it makes you use energy more efficiently, you will use the food better and actually put on more fat as you get fitter [if eating the same amount]. Three -- stay committed, it is about lifestyle, not just looking good. It is about health and not just being admired by others! I have been extremely fit all my life. Learned through trial and error. Today I run ultramarathons all over the world, set the Guinness world record for running 24 hours on a treadmill and have run more than 300mi in 50 hours. I speak from experience. I'll be in Korea at the end of August and would love to meet up and do a work out with ya!! Ciao, DD "YOu can do a lot , if you don't know you can't"

This is interesting. I haven't heard about the bee pollen. It sounds similar to glycolic acid supplement. It prevents glycation (a process that happens when sugar molecules attach to proteins, so the body cannot use surgar as fuel efficiently, causing a breakdown of functions and aging) Hence, Atkins prohibits the intake of carbs or sugar. But, Atkins is not the way to go. Besides a well-balanced diet, I read that if you rotate at least 2 or more different workout patterns every week, your muscles will not get used to it so easily. So, you'll get the most benefit out of your workouts and will be a lot easier to achieve goals.
