I was at home and it was the evening. I had a long day and I was tired, so I sat on my couch. It was time to go to bed since my thoughts were beginning to drift off and I had a hard time focusing on what was happening on my tv screen.
Suddenly I heard something. It was loud and I had a hard time knowing where it came from. It sounded like a loud beep. it went like 'beep.. pause.. beep.. pause.. beep.. pause.. pause...beep'. For the record the 'beep' is not a replacement for a different word, like much is done on the radio. But it was like a whistle or a tjirp. Not a tune, but always the same sound.
So I was walking around my home to spot where it came from. I was tired and wanted a quiet sleep. When I finally looked into my garden I noticed the sound was louder over there and there I saw it. On the roof of my shed there was a tiny bird. I didn't expected the noise coming from his little throat. It was loud and the bird was really tiny.
He looked at me with his small black eyes. 'Are you looking at me?', it seemed to say. 'Do I annoy you? Well tough luck for you.' And he started again.
These are the times I wished I had a camera with me. I stepped towards the little bird to have a closer look and it hopped away.
Time for me to sleep again. No bird anymore to keep me awake, I thought. And I walked away.
Right when I stepped into my bed the bird started again. I turned over hoping I would fall asleep before his next 'beep'.
